During a 2 months long internship at Khamir, (an NGO in Kachchh that works to strengthen and promote the rich artisanal traditions of Kachchh district), I worked with four local woman artisans under one roof to exchange ideas and collaborate with them in order to develop a range of hand-stitched textiles/garments from waste/cut out fabrics.
(Kachchh, Gujarat is renowned for its fine folk stitches. That is one of the few crafts of Kachchh done primarily by women.)
Products developed - Jackets, Scarves and Wraps, Ponchos, Tops and Bags.
