The Way, Way Back is a coming of age story about a teenager, Duncan, who goes on summer vacation with his mother, her overbearing boyfriend, and her boyfriend's daughter. Having a rough time fitting in, Duncan finds an unexpected group of friends at the Water Wizz water park. Through his funny, clandestine friendship with Owen, the water park manager, Duncan slowly opens up and begins to finally find his place in the world.
