Visual Storytelling
Fall 2019
Skills: Visual Communication | Graphic Design | Research
Project description: Design a visual storybook that highlights a commentary of your choice.
I decided my story would highlight the history of the first African American students to attend my institute. I visited my campus library and looked into archival records to find images and learn information to curate my story.
This was the final project for my fist graphic communication course. I applied my visual design skills I learned such as hierarchy, rule of thirds, and typography choice to create something visually appealing - in addition to telling a story in a way that is organized and easy to follow. Throughout this project I improved upon my fundamental graphic communication skills and also had the opportunity to research from primary resources to curate a story I believed was impactful.
