Specimen is a one of a kind artist's book about the inside of the body. Each page depicts a detailed watercolor drawing of a microscopic view of bodily organs and tissues that have been intricately cut out of the paper to reveal the layer underneath. This layering creates the effect of layers of lace. I also wanted to accentuate the plantlike structure present within our bodies, drawing a connection between animale and plant life.
