Description
Project from my Type and Image class, we were to either create an illustrated letter form or illuminated letter.
  • Matthew, Mark, and Luke
    Throughout medieval art there are images of the four Evangelists (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) shown with or as a certain symbol.
    Matthew is represented as either a man or an angel, Mark is represented as a lion, Luke as an ox, and John as an eagle.
    I just adore these symbols from medieval art and used my own personal aesthetic to represent Matthew, Mark, and Luke in a cut paper style.  (These were created digitally using watercolor washes).
