I knew Allicia from working at the same cafe as her. She's always expressive and the art she paints were bright and had topless women. I always saw her as a person who embraces her womanhood with tenacity. So, being inspired by her art and the person that she is I asked her if I could photograph her. On the day of the shoot, I had a text that Allicia's sister had wanted me to shoot her getting her head shaved. She did it because she was trying to solve her eczema problem and figured that shaving helped eased it. Meeting her sister was a blessing. She asked me everything about photography and the three of us went by the afternoon shooting and talking about life. To meet a pair of siblings and be able to observe their relationship to each other always seemed to fill my heart with warmth. I've always appreciated things like this.
