ALEXEY BRODOVITCH SPREAD
This magazine spread was a major research project and exploration on typography and layout design. The subject of the article is famous a famous Russian-transplant known for his magazine design for Harper's Bazaar, and the style of the article is loosely based around Brodovitch's layout and use of white space.

sketches.
These initial sketches were my first ideas on how to organize the photos with the information, something that was not taken into account was the amount of space I had to work with, as these used too much text.
drafts.
After inserting my initial draft of my article, I was able to add more photos and organize them as needed. The photos were the most prominent and positive space of the composition so I tried to organize accordingly.
final.
This final draft uses many elements from my different drafts, and I was able to create three columns to hold the information, keeping all their labels on one baseline. The use of color on the text, and the treatment of the first paragraph brought together the composition.
