OVERVIEW
Nowadays, Most of works we used to enjoy is based on myth, legend and folktales. folktales like Greek or Roman mythology are very famous but Korean folktales are not well known, even though it has interesting stories.‘Folktales Monster’ is designed to inform old tales of Korea in a friendly way. ‘Folktales Monster’ is five-character were reinterpreted on modern way. There are son exiled from dragon king of the Sea, golden pig living in the underworld,
one-legged monster, a giant monster living on a remote island in the east and fox goblin. Based on the worldviews and stories of the characters, I produced illustration poster and five kinds of art toys.

오늘날 우리가 즐기는 작품중 상당수는 서구의 신화와 전설, 민담들을 바탕으로 두고 있습니다.그리스 로마신화를 비롯한 외국의 신화들을 잘 알려 있지만, 우리의 민담과 전설은 재미있는 소재를 가지고 있음에도 관심이 적어 제대로 알려져 있지 않았습니다. ‘Folktale Monsters’는 한국 민담을 바탕으로 만들어진 캐릭터로서 한국의 옛이야기를 보다 친근하게 알리기 위해 기획되었습니다.‘Folktales Monster’ 는 한국의 민담 속 다섯 괴물인 쫓겨난 용왕의 아들 자라, 저승에는 사는 금돼지, 외다리 요괴, 동쪽의 외딴섬에 사는 장인족, 여우 도깨비의 이야기를 재해석하여 만든 다섯캐릭터입니다. 각각의 캐릭터들이 사는 세계관과 스토리를 바탕으로 하여 일러스트 포스터와 아트토이 5종을 제작했습니다.
