This is a visualization created for Addition Financial, a Florida-based bank. There are a series of visual metaphors in this illustration which describe their restructuring (represented by the house being built) as well as their goals as a company, staying involved in the community, and the various obstacles they face as a business. (Fun fact: I checked out several books on "How to Build a House," from the library before getting started.) The team of superheroes are the company mascots.

In the first step, I attempted to draw each character and element separately, either in my sketchbook, or digitally on the computer. I decided this was taking way too long and the level of detail in each asset would vary too drastically so I scrapped it in the second step.

In the second step, I sketched out the entire scene in pencil over 3 pieces of 11x17" bristol board (taped together). Feeling much better about this direction, I proceeded to ink over that moving forward.

I had some revisions - more characters and visual metaphors to throw in - and then added color and lettering to everything.

This was a lot of work but I'm happy with the end result!
