Airplanes
These are just a few snaps of all types of airplanes from some of the airshows I have attended. Subjects include anything from the awe inspiring Blue Angels and Thunderbirds to the solitude of a single stunt propeller biplane (pictured below). More content will be added as it becomes available.
The Blue Angels images below were taken on a hot, hazy day during the Chicago Air and Water Show. Because of this, my Nikon telephoto, which is the weakest lens in my bag, didn't produce the sharpness I wanted from my shots, but I still got a couple that were acceptable.

The same lens was used on a cloudy, rainy day at the Selfridge Air Show at the Selfridge ANG Base in Michigan with much better results. The dispersion of light really helped produce some great images, with the biplane one at the top of this page as my favorite.

All images were taken with a Nikon D90 and a 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED IF AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens, and only minimal post processing was done on each image using Adobe Photoshop Elements...mostly because I need to learn how to use it better, not because I'm the greatest photographer the world has seen or anything.
