The “OCA” is a sideboard inspired by the furniture of the 50's with a more contemporary aspect. In Portuguese, "OCA" means hollow. This sideboard has a light character due to its shape and the way the material is worked. It is called that because of the shape of the product when viewed from the side or from the front and the design that both legs form. One of the main aspects of the object is not only the stability that comes from the angle of the legs, but also the trims made in the metal sheet that give it more resistance and balance. The initial prototype was developed at full scale, as you can see in the photos below, using pine wood, sheet metal and cork as materials.
