Rewind is an app that allows the user to associate memories to songs, creating a sort of diary for each song, that will be as unique as the user’s experiences. The app is interfaced with Apple Music, allowing access to 60 millions of songs, and potentially even more memories.

When the user selects a song, they can create a new memory and then associate related text, images and contacts to it. The user will listen to the song while they are creating, editing or opening a memory, for a more powerful emotional impact. When you rewind your memorie you can also directly contact the people you assigned to this memory.

Another interesting implication of this app is the confrontation between users: seeing how friends associate the same songs to other memories, they will discover similarities and differences, different association patterns, new ways to look at their favourite songs.

To enhance this aspect, we are planning to implement social media capabilities in Rewind. It will allow online account creation, sharing of memories, interaction between users, a common wall where the user will share their new memories.

Lastly, the data emerging from this app, overall in its social network version, could be greatly interesting for musicians and musicologists, to better understand how people link songs to memories, and what makes a song memorable.
