PBC Parks & Rec 2019 Annual Report

PALM BEACH COUNTY PARKS & RECREATION
2019 Annual Report
Purpose & Objectives

The 2018 Annual Report is the Department’s comprehensive accounting of the most important activities that took place in 2019. Similar to corporate reports, this publication provides information on the department’s financial information for stakeholders, which include elected officials, county administration, employees, volunteers, partners, sponsors, media, local community, visitors and potential business partners. In addition, the report provides an overview of the significant impact the department has had on the community in solving local problems and gaining positive attention for the department, and the county as a whole, through recognition of its award-winning parks and programs.
Creative Process

After the Office of Public Engagement works together to compile content and images for the report, the graphic designer develops a theme and style for the report. The design drafts are continually reviewed within the team, adjusted based on feedback, and finally, presented to the director for approval.

The following applications were used in the creation of the report:

Adobe Illustrator >
Details on the front cover, including editing the Gold Medal Award logo for the gold printing process and the creation/editing of some vector elements

Adobe Photoshop >
Photo editing

Adobe Indesign >
Arrange and combine all content into page layouts and a printable format
Impact & Experience

The Annual Report is widely distributed to stakeholders through a variety of methods. About one hundred and fifty hard copies are provided to elected officials, county administration, division directors and department supervisors and managers. They are also provided to prospective sponsors and partners. The report is distributed electronically as part of our monthly newsletter to more than 20,000 recipients.

The PDF is available to download on the department’s website (www.pbcparks.com). The report was also shared on our Facebook and Twitter pages and employees, including employees of other County departments (about 6,000 in total), can access the report electronically on our Intranet site.
