Materials: cornstarch based bioplastic, cotton fibers from old clothes.
From textile waste to light!
We need to recover and upcycle resources, so the study of sustainable materials for design led to this project.
Volcano lamp is homemade and handcrafted, it follows the principles of circular economy in a domestic scenario and it links design to handcraft.

Preparation of cotton fibers
Cut into small pieces some old cotton clothes and blend them with some water. Then let them dry.
Ingredients
From left to right: cornstarch, baking soda, water, cotton fibers from old clothes.
Preparation of the dough
1. mix the ingredients;
2. cook the mixture;
3. roll out the dough and shape it;
4. let it dry.
