The main copper alloys are:

Brass -> copper alloy with Zinc (Cu + Zn). The brass is harder than copper, is resistant to oxidation, salt conditions and is ductile so that it can be forged in thin sheets.

Nickel -> copper alloy with Nickel (Cu + Ni). It is mainly used in heat exchangers. The copper-nickel-zinc alloy (nickel silver) has good corrosion resistance and good mechanical qualities.

Aluminum -> copper alloy with Aluminum (Cu + Al). The so-called aluminum bronzes (with at least 10% aluminum) originate. It was already made in China in the 2nd century. It is highly appreciated in artistic works.

Beryllium -> copper alloy with Beryllium (Cu + be). Beryllium copper has important mechanical properties; it is used in the manufacture of springs of all kinds.

Chrome -> copper alloy with chromium (Cu + Cr). It is mainly used to make electrodes
Silver -> copper alloy with silver (Cu + Ag). It has a high hardness that allows it to withstand temperatures of up to 226 ºC.

Cadmium -> copper alloy with Cadmium (Cu + Cd). It is used in overhead power lines that withstand heavy mechanical, catenaries, and contact cables of surface transportation means.

All these copper alloys have their own benefits and features. These are used in the manufacturing of different type of devices.

Titanium welding under inert atmosphere

Certain metals and alloys, including titanium, require special know-how in terms of welding, to limit embrittlement by adding addition elements and deformation.
