Many products and packaging today are designed to be disposed after only one use. Single use plastics end up in our oceans and landfills and kill the wildlife and environments around them.  We must look to a future where the products we use are meant to last.

Consumers often pick disposable products over sustainable options because they see the products filling different needs. Sustainable options seem foreign to some consumers because they are different in function and or form. Sustainable options have the opportunity to fit the consumer’s needs while also having less impact on the environment.

Wisely is a brand that brings you more sustainable everyday products without sacrificing convenience. All the products are fully reusable while only switching out necessary materials.

The Wisely razor works by using a button on the back of the razor to hold open the head of the razor. The razor is inserted into the packaging cavity and crushes the two pegs holding the blade. The razor makes an audible "click" when the blade is in correct positioning in the head to be used. The internals were designed to be disassembled to be fixed with replacement parts by the consumer or when sent back to the company.

The Wisely flosser allows you to reuse the flosser head while only filtering out floss. Simply unscrew the head slightly and pull the floss from the bottom and cut the excess. The inner pegs between head parts allow the user to easily assemble the flosser with a replacement floss tube. Also incorporated is a standard metal floss cutter that is slid into the plastic flosser casing. The refill floss tube is made of a recycled paper tube to minimize the impact the product has on the environment.

The Wisely swab has three different types of tips that can be used for different uses such as cleaning ears, for makeup or other skin care. The rubber swabs pressure fit into the tube casing to stay safe as well as be accessed easily. The swab parts can be easily washed with soap and water or alcohol to be reused.

The final packaging design uses a biodegradable formed tray to hold the products. The outer sleeve is a recycled paper die stamp box. The die cut logo shows the product color from the product below. Each box includes a card with instructions that are meant to be kept for future use. To keep the box closed for shipping and sorting a biodegradable sticker is used. The sticker also labels which product is inside the packaging in a simple way without unnecessary ink and graphics.
