Through an internship with Couture Homes, a home remodeling group that serves the mid to high end residential market in Houston, TX, I experienced multiple phases of a residential remodel in a three month process, on a fixed budget. I was responsible for fabricating and implementing conceptual drivers that were relevant to the market at the time; in this case, a home applied with contemporary vernacular that appealed to a mainstream demographic - stylized and refined with luxury finishes.
The conceptual drivers for this house were to apply the contemporary aesthetics of the exterior to the interior by emphasizing long, linear elements. Wall-mounted, polished chrome fixtures were selected to emphasis horizontal and vertical planes along with cool and warm gray tones deep enough to fill the large rooms.
Luxurious stones added the perception of depth along with timeless luxury that won’t go out of style. Custom paintings create accenting planes using complimentary colors and textures.
