The Circumference of a Man-made Wilderness
Beaver Lake is a central figure within Stanley Park, in Vancouver, BC. A few years ago, the Parks Bard installed an interpretive trail system around Beaver Lake, marked by a set of posts marked 1 through 9. However, the only way to actually interpret this trail is to download a pdf from the parks Boards website, which even a local such as myself did not know for 4 years.
So, the posts stand as a marker of human existence within a wilderness.
The photos highlight the experience of being alone in the wild... but for that post that says, 'you're not alone'.
