For this project I created an opening sequence for the move Us by Jordan Peele. I wanted to mimic the idea of shadows following us around and taking over our lives, similarly to the move. I wanted the overall feeling to seem eerie and tense so I knew I wanted something in black and white. To symbolize the idea of the “tethered” people and the bond they share with their doppelganger,  I chose to use shadow puppets and the shadow they create for my imagery.

Using texture overlays and vector images I incorporated expression wiggle effects to my opacity to add flickering lights into my design as well as the screen catching fire at the end of my animation.  Using path manipulation and track matts, to morph shapes into different scenes creating a nice flow throughout the graphic.

Using the original music from the film, the overall effect of my animation gives a spooky telling of the movie your about to view without giving away all the details.
