Project Narrative

Let’s Move is a nationwide public service campaign initiated by Michelle Obama in 2010. According to the Let’s Move campaign website, “Over the past three decades, childhood obesity rates in America have tripled, and today, nearly one in three children in America are overweight or obese” (letsmove.gov). The design challenge was to create an innovative ad campaign and campaign logo rebrand in order to spread awareness about childhood obesity. The three advertisements are kid-friendly, illustrated scenarios with a fruit or vegetable character being active and healthy. The ads are inviting, cute, and unique, and they illustrate the main points of the Let’s Move campaign. The campaign logo rebrand provides a cleaner, bold approach to the logo with updated colors and text. The jump rope packaging and branded basketball are a continuation of the advertisements and they reinforce awareness of the campaign.
