Botanical study to create floral all over print designs. The mood board conveys the inspiration and vibe of what the overall print will be. In this case, the print trend here is traditional florals, a trend that is timeless and commercial and seen every season on the runways and in stores.
These are my original hand drawings inspired by images found in vintage botanical garden books. I used a number of different materials, including; coloured pencil, paint and markers.
These are two examples of how my drawings were used; having been scanned and turned into a print composition on Adobe Photoshop and later printed onto textile samples for textile designer, Mirjam Rouden to sell at fabric trade fairs.
Some examples of how I took my original drawings and arranged them into an all over print composition on Photoshop. I played around with various hues and saturations as well as a number of different background colours.
This print is featured in an example of how I use my prints in my fashion design and how they apply to the latest catwalk trends.
