Moonlit Reefs

Inspired by 'The Wreck of the Batavia', a written account of a Dutch 17th century trading vessel that ran aground off the West coast of Australia after hitting a large reef just below the water line. The crew managed to make it off and to some nearby islands before they were dashed to bits on the rocks, however, they were stranded there with no water or real sustenance and when eventually the two leading parties were brought before the courts, a whole sordid tale of butchery, murder and cannibalism unfolded.
