Philanthropic Services Offered by Spectrum for Living

With a 50-year career in the fragrance industry, Ken Wessel created his own company in 1988, which he ultimately sold in 2008 to Takasago International Corporation. A resident of Vero Beach, Florida, Ken Wessel has been involved in philanthropic activities for his entire life, helping associations such as Child Abuse Prevention Services, the John’s Island Foundation, and Spectrum for Living (SFL).

SFL is a New Jersey non-profit association, first created in 1978 to serve people in the region with developmental disabilities. The association aims to provide equal opportunity to individuals with such disabilities, enabling them to have access to their rights.

The services provided by SFL to adults include a residential facility with 24-hour access to medical care, as well as several barrier-free housing options. Among the healthcare services SFL provides, nursing services are included, as well as therapies such as physical, speech, occupational, and dietary.

Residents of SFL housing and community clients also have access to the six sites that house the adult training centers. In these centers, clients can participate in a variety of programs that allow them to maintain and develop their skills in numerous areas.

There are several other services provided by SFL, such as a recreation program with events and activities, support services to individuals and their families, and more.
