Ripidi

— Live at Tetris
A radically designed poster for an easygiong-verve concert. In a game of stylistic oppositions and conceptual connections between graphic design and music I created this manifesto for the Ripidi concert at Tetris club. Ripidi is an italian indie-pop post-mod group with reminiscences of The Beatles, Supergrass and The Sonics. Their music is higly easy to listen, but their gigs are highly flaming and the garage mood is higly remarkable. OCR-A is a font that arose in the early days of computer optical character recognition when there was a need for a font that could be recognized not only by the computers of that day, but also by humans. OCR-A uses simple, thick strokes to form recognizable characters and it has a fixed-width. I found a relation between the band’s musical genre and this typeface, right in their most prominent features. So I designed a maximalist poster — pretty recognizable, stylish and modernistic.
