I tried envisioning several different implementations of what my visual designer and I endearingly called a Heads-Up Display (homage to Zelda and gaming). With a downward swipe, a panel slides down to reveal the top things surveyed Patch users need first thing in the morning: weather forecast, personalized commute timetable, breaking hyperlocal news, and the hyperlocal deal of the day.
Shortly after concepting this feature, Apple launched its swipe-down Notifications Center, which caused us to put this interaction on hold due to the proximity of the gestures. If we were able to iterate on the design, I would have reduced the amount of copy in the view in the mock above to make it simpler to glance at.
