Target Group/Brand: This product was developed for MRIaudio, Inc. The target group for this product is patients undergoing MRI scans on all OEM magnets. Comfort and audio entertainment were the priority for this design. The headset must provide 25dB+ NNR of hearing protect while delivering superior sound quality from the MRIaudio sound system.
Patients at Ease: MRI scans are one of the most loud and claustrophobic experiences people can encounter. This uncomfortable environment leads to high levels of stress and anxiety for the individual which can stop or jeopardize a MRI scan. Stopping or delaying a scan effects efficiency and MRI centers bottom line.
Design Output: Reaching 25 dB of NRR without active noise cancellation is difficult for over ear headsets. Volume, airtight ear cushions and open cell foam are key elements for sound deadening. Current hearing protection headsets on the market which achieved 25 dB or higher are 3-4 inches in profile. With the slimline headset having such a low profile it is imperative an ear tip with acoustic properties is utilized.
