Art 105- Birdhouse Project

Birdhouse Project

The Birdhouse project was completed for Art 105- Technical Drawing. The object of this project was to design a unique birdhouse while applying 2-point perspective and the rules of line thickness varying with distance from the viewer (Thickness increases with closer proximity). I was inspired by the geometric shapes that are a prominent characteristic of modern architecture when I was first designing this birdhouse. Rather than going for a more single-celled structure, I wanted to make something blockier with a more communal appearance while maintaining a sense of unity, leading to the mass of birdhouse units that make up this structure. If there is anything I would like to improve when looking back at this, I would definitely push for a greater consistency in terms of my varying uses of line thickness. I would also increase the distance between the two vanishing points used for this drawing, so then the bottom of the birdhouse wouldn't have such sharp angles.
