Spring 2013 we made a flagship furniture for Hovden furniture Norway. I chose to make a classy bookshelf for customers who are rich in both the cultural and economical sense of the word, an item that draws its inspiration from both strict, modern, geometrical shapes and the use of cheaper wood types, like treated birch, as well as the current, popular, Scandinavian, 50s-retro-look based on teak and elevation.

 

The results is a bookshelf that holds both books and pulitzers, then turns into a spare bed for that travelling emiritus or J1-status friend from abroad, that “just needs a place to crash for a couple of days”.

 

For good measure, Ive also revitalized the Hovden brand, made an icon to match the furniture series, visualized an add campaign based on the photographic works of Linder Sterling and made Hovdens furniture catalog,

a pop-up.
