WASP Duty Stations 1942 - 1944

This graphic was created using  Photoshop, a digital camera, an old section map and a database of the different Army Air Bases where WASP were staioned during WWII.   I took pictures of the yellowed, secion map and loaded the pices of the larger pictures into photoshop.  I stitched them together (the original map is huge) to form layer one.  I added filters under the exposure tab in photshop giving the map a more yellowed appearance.  I found a mapping program that would show just the locations in the database on the map and transferred the locations to my photoshop file.   I then downloaded the US Army Air Force Font -- which looked like the printing on the side of a WWII plane, and added the titles.

Fun project--took far longer than I thought it would. Printed on canvas / stretch frame 32"x 40"
