The WPA Poster
The Works Progress Administration sponsored the creation of posters designed both to educate and encourage safety. Alligators can be a serious problem in Florida, since many are unaware of their inevitable presence.
The murky colors and use of Futura are authentic to the WPA posters from World War II. Seeing the alligator from his profile forces the unsuspecting viewer to acknowledge the attentive stare of the gator.
