Tea-light holder
Blue pottery of Jaipur

In my final project I got an opportunity to work on the Jaipur’s blue pottery craft. The sponsored of this project is NID’s Outreach programme.  It was a craft cluster development project where I had to design a system and range of products which could be gained and followed by the cluster for further upliftment. The project should end with genuine outcome which would help craftsmen for their better livelihood.

The project starts with research then it continue with survey, brief, conceptualization, exploration, prototype, surface development and it reaches to final product. I came up with the idea of souvenirs out of blue pottery, as Jaipur itself a tourist place where craftsmen can easily sell their products direct to the buyers and get maximum profit by removing middle men. Through this they get direct feedback of their products which can be really very helpful in their development. Looking at the material possibilities, market and user demand, I am came up with the three product range.

Tea-light holder is one of the ranges for Jaipur blue pottery. The range also includes potpourri plates and potpourri.
