Independent Study Project.
For This Particular Project I began by developing a number of ideas that I thought could be potentially pitched to a client or clients. Once I had developed these ideas further I took the approach of sending out some emails to potential clients mainly in the local area of Nottingham, in the emails I offered my services as a 3D artist and said that I would be willing to produce the work for Free as it would be a great addition to my portfolio work. As I only received one email that contained a positive response to my proposal for future reference I think that I would take the approach of contacting clients in a number of different methods, even though this is how I got the opportunity to work on this project I don’t think it was effective enough.
The project that I proposed was to a local company known as The Conversion Company, this company deals with general house work and conversions. I proposed to create a series of animations and a brochure to show the skills and services that he offered, as both Alex Kennedy and I decided to work on the project together by creating a business meaning we were to work on this project with shared roles. We decided to work on the project as a team as we thought it would be far more beneficial than working as individuals, this is because we would have to produce far more work in terms of business plans and everything that entails within starting up a business.
Branding and Identity.
Our Business idea was to create a 3D production company known as Visual3D, when concerning the branding and our identity we had it created to our preference by Matt Edson. Originally we were more than pleased with what Matt had created but after receiving feedback from peers we had someone else edit the design, Robert Gibson changed the original colour scheme and added different effects to make it more pleasing on the eye. Once these changes had been made we asked the opinion of Derek O’Brien who suggested that it needed further work, therefore we took it into our own hands with Derek's guidance creating an overall stronger and more appealing identity.
This is the brand and identity that we have created for our business, with supporting material.
From here we began creating our Business Plan which consists of everything that entails of creating a business, as non of us had ever produced anything like this before it was eye opening to see how much needs to go into consideration when starting up a business. This is something that I felt that both Alex and I handled very well as we covered all aspects of the business ranging from summaries of the company, funding routes, location/facilities ,products/rates, our future plans, market analysis and our 5 year plan. With producing something like this I can say that I have learnt a vast amount from what needs to be taken into consideration and I would feel confident producing something like this in the future.
Test Footage.
These are the original piece of test footage that were used to pitch our idea to our client, we remained true to the brand by using the company's colour scheme.

Final Animations.
These are the final animations that i have created for the project and include the final renders to show what can be achieved, as a collective we show the range of services that the Conversion company offers.
Brochure.
This is the brochure that we designed together for the conversion company, the brochure shows examples of the 3D work carried out and talks about the services the company offers.
Conclusion.
Overall I think we have both done our fair share of work on the project and the business side of things and would definitely work with Alex on something like this in the future. The work that we produced for The Conversion Company does what we said it would do and Patrick is more than happy with what was produced and is happy enough to work with us again in the future. The Business side of things has given us the knowledge of what is expected of us once we go into the industry and how we can implement them, we produced a number of branding, advertising material, rates and looked into the cost of setting up the business whilst taking facilities and other aspects into consideration. These are priceless skills that we will need to know on completion of our BA and I am glad that we have covered the area now opposed to on completion of the course.
