Gastronomchik supermarket chain branding

Gastronomchik is a popular supermarket chain in southern Russia. The company comissioned me to rethink
the retail brand with the goal to launch a series of private labels. The task was to create a friendly cosy feel that would completely divide Gastronomchic from unoriginal competitors. As a result we’ve created distinctive visual system accompanied by detailed guidelines. All the elements add to consistent yet versatile communication.
We made some reference to retro style since the word Gastronomchik is a historical version of the word grocery in Russian. The logo is designed from scratch and is based on round monoline script. To add some play we placed a tiny herb leaf above the letters.
The color palette is built of natural mouthwatering colors and also refers to midcentury aethetics.
It is both laconic and rich so we can create illustrations for any purpuse.
New branding has already made the company hugely grow food production for private lebels.
Now we’are on our way to implementing consistent brand image through all mediums.
