LES VAGABONDES / 2019

The floaters tells the story of pregnant girls placed in specialized educational colleges in the 60s in France. This story happened to a member of my family, so I was interested in this topic. Despite much research, I realized that these stories were still mysterious and that the subject was very little documented, at least publicly. 

So I filled the gaps with my imagination. The hand-stitched dress takes shape of the uniforms worn by these girls. I was inspired by the toile de Jouy for its narrative dimension, in order to tell their story.
