For my final senior capstone project as a Communications major I wanted to use my design, photography, and writing skills to create a piece of art that I could present to my audience. I interviewed female athletes from Gordon College all participating in various sports. I collected their stories that emphasize the problem I was addressing in my project: the categorization of girls creates constraints. Female athletes have faced the challenge of having to choose their label either girly-girl or tomboy, which constrains them to conform to one side. 

I used photojournalism to share these female athlete narratives and capture their beauty as an athlete. I wanted to share these stories and photos as an instillation for my presentation. I included their stories as take away cards with the female's headshot and their story on the backside for people to share and spread around campus.
