The objective of this project was to create simplistic icons representing both natural and man-made landmarks around the United States.

The first step of making these icons was brainstorming what landmarks to choose from. I tried to balance both natural and man-made places to use.  

I started off using a circular platform for each icon. Because many of my icons were diverse in nature, I used similar background and ground colors and no strokes to create unity between each image. 

After receiving critique from my peers and mentors, I decided to remove the circular frame from my icons. I think it promoted more simplicity and contrast from their background. I added detail in some areas, and removed it in others. I also added a universal shadow to each icon to create more depth in the image.The finished product resulted in twelve simplistic icons each representing various landmarks around the United States.
