CN Tower Toronto, An Intimate Night Portrait

Intimate night portrait of CN Tower Toronto Canada.

I first laid my eyes on the CN Tower, Toronto, Canada in 1976, over four decades ago when I arrived Canada to do my residency. I visited the tower perhaps a couple of times or more thereafter. I remember heading up the elevator to the observation deck back then. The surrounding areas, from my recollection, were not significantly developed at the time as it was at the time of this project.

Fast forward to 2019. I was in Toronto for a function and decided to get together with this iconic structure. I continue to be fascinated by anything going up and particularly this tower! Since I enjoy night photography, I decided I should take a shot at doing a portrait of this beautiful edifice at night. Night photography is usually lonely because most tourists would have retired to the bars!

'The CN Tower is a 553.3 m-high concrete communications and observation tower located in Downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Built on the former Railway Lands, it was completed in 1976. Its name "CN" originally referred to Canadian National, the railway company that built the tower.' (Wikipedia).

I did this project on a very cold fall/winter night. I spent several hours trying to find the best compositions. It was not as easy as I thought it would be with the biting cold and painful fingers. The final product is well worth it. I decided to show not only the tower but the magnificent surroundings as well.
Enjoy.
