The new Garmin zūmo will bring the best of both worlds starting with a brighter, capacitive 5.5" HD display, longer battery life, and faster Mstar C4P processor. We will include a new mount and harness that are lower-in-profile and easier to install.
The new zūmo also adds Bird’s Eye Direct satellite imagery downloads as well as pre-installed TopoActive mapping giving riders off road mapping and trail data out of the box to support all their riding adventures.

New Mount
One of the main design challenges was designing a mount that has a smaller, low profile, look and feel while maintaining the strength
to endure harsh motorcycle shock and vibration.
We landed on a mount half the size of the previous zūmo that integrates seamlessly into the device.
New Display
This is also the first ever zūmo to utilize a capacitive touch display. The extremely bright display makes seeing the
maps easier then ever, even with direct sunlight.
But on rainy days the capacitive touch screen still works when cover with water drops, even while using gloves.
Same Toughness
Although this device is sleeker then previous motorcycle products, it still maintains its rugged durability.
The unit is IPX7 Waterproof and also uses fuel and chemical resistant plastics.
More Battery
Even with a brighter and crisper display, this zūmo’s battery last as long if not longer then previous versions.
Riders who don’t want to wire their mount to their bike can expect up to 4 hours of battery life when the display is at 100% brightness.

Exploring multiple form factors that represent the sporty yet rugged lifestyle of the user.
3D Development
Once a the ideal forms was selected, size and surface refinement took place. Multiple models were created through out development to make sure the forms
worked efficiently with the internal components. Ultimately a final design was chosen.
Product Sample Evaluation
Once the design was finalized, design worked closely with engineering to create tool-able parts.
These part require multiple rounds of review, testing, and approval to meet mass production standards.
