I had the pleasure of visiting Munich, Bavaria, Germany, in the winter of 2018. Despite only being in this lovely city for a few days, we had the chance to sample quite a few of its rail-based transportation, including a few trips on the U-Bahn (which has some rather striking stations), its trams, and a trip to the Airport via the S-Bahn. All were very good.
Here is an (almost finished, but not quite) diagram of the Munich railway network, including a couple of extensions and projects that are either under construction or in the planning stages. This diagram marks a slight departure from my usual style of cartography, with a more varied mix of line weights tending towards thinner lines, and a fairly clear hierarchy of lines based on colour and hue. S-Bahn lines are thin (a good thing, or else the tangle of them in the city centre will be very hard to draw!) and brightly coloured. U-Bahn lines are thick, and have dark, solid colours. Tram lines are shown in grey with pastel coloured markers.
I'm posting this diagram in this unfinished state because I may not get around to finishing it for a while, and I'd be more than happy to take any feedback and comments in the meantime.
