Poster construction based on Appropriation for Discipline of Theory and History of Graphic Design - UFMG.
This poster is a Appropriation of the work of Shepard Fairey in the poster from "Obey", that combines elements of graffiti, pop art, business art, and Marxist theory. His work has been seen in galleries around the world and even museums, but he started doing his work on the streats. Not only that, but is often recognized in graphic designing and signature apparel.
Here, I made references from the game "Magic: the Gathering", one of the most popular trading card games in the word.
Instead of "Obey", the word "Mardu" is the clan of red, white and black, that is, also, the most used colors in Russian Constructivism.
The phrase used here, is the motto of the clan Mardu.
The simbols in the eye represents each color. The sun from white, the fire from red and the skull from black.
Last, but not least, the black wings at the bottom of the poster, are the simbol of the clan Mardu.
