An interactive installation which looks at surveillance and tries to replicate the sense of being watched by someone higher and the lack of control. Above the room with the observers, there are 2 speakers placed in the ceiling which are connected through an Arduino to a custom-made cube controller with 11 buttons. Each button triggers a different type of sound, all surveillance-based.
The controller originally was planned to be given to the entry guard of the building 3 floors below, who had a very boring job and spent his long shifts on his phone. This way the guard would, without knowing, be controlling the environment 3 floors up but everyone upstairs wouldn't know who is controlling them. And me, by setting up the system would be controlling both the guard and the observers with the piece. This way, a very unique and a bit humorous power dynamic was created.
