Recently, I worked on a collaboration with Ong Shunmugam, a contemporary fashion label in Singapore. I was given the brief to express my sentiments about Chinese New Year, Asian women and expectations. I designed the print and social media posts for the collection. Priscilla, the founder, reinterpreted them into the different looks and styles.

OM Ed is a series of capsule collections that explore the relationship between fashion and art, and vice versa. Featuring a Southeast Asian artist for each collection - with the goal to profile their talent and celebrate their particular style, eye and handwork.

The print features a character, Maya.
Maya is a female who knows what she likes, what she wants and is very capable
(she worked hard to get where she is at). She sports a unique hairstyle, owns a stylish pair of sunglasses that help shields her emotions, a bright dress that draws attention
to her and enjoys stockings with heels.

Maya represents an attitude:
She is a go getter, confident and doesn’t mind standing out in the crowd.
She is quirky in her own rights.

We envisioned a collection that isn't the typical dreary red Chinese New Year dress, but a collection that sparks conversation and something females can feel comfortable and fun in all the time. We also wanted girls to be true to themselves, find their own uniqueness and be happy in their own skin!
