This is a fun subsurface texturing project I finally got around to animating in 2019, part of a small series of purple-themed SSS projects that I became obsessed with. Light scattering through gummy, plastic, or soap materials is a blast to play with, could literally render worlds like this all day. Initially textured this when I first got into Octane, so textures are a little haphazard experimentation, lol, but the scattering is where it's at. Below is the final animation to the tune of my favorite summer track "Slide" by Michael Clanton, followed by some stills of SSS awesomeness. 

Obviously abstract, the floating island started out as random shapes, and ended after a long variety of experimenting  with color shades. Some robot man seemed appropriate, just chilling out and enjoying this purple trippy ball world.
