Painting of twin dogs

Painting done as a Christmas gift.
My parents have a set of near-identical twin dogs, and I wanted to paint them as a Christmas present. They're jet black, which places them outside my skills with painting to make a nice picture of. Instead, I combined two approaches.
The background acrylic is a representation of their personality. They're chaotic, vivacious animals. They burst with energy and enthusiasm.
The two-headed dog is try and keep something visually interesting while showcasing the colour of the dogs, and how they almost seem to think and act as one animal in two bodies.
The foreground cut-out is grey posterboard painted with Super Black 2.0.
