FALCONS DROP EUTS IN HOME OPENER
The Eutectics men's soccer team suffered heavy defeat to Kansas Christian College in its home opener this afternoon, falling 5-0.
The 121 in attendance saw a dominant display from the Falcons.
Chris Sutton (FR/Fredericktown, Mo.) started in goal for the Eutectics as Ethan Haege (FR/St. Libory, Ill.) served his suspension for a controversial rules violation from the previous match.  Sutton made three saves, and there was little he could do about the five conceded. The quick-fire attack, combined with persistent possession, made the Falcons a difficult opponent.
The Eutectics showed promise, conceding only one goal in the first half, but the Falcons came out much stronger in the second forty-five.  A thirty yard wonder-strike from freshman Eric Rodriguez opened the floodgates as the Falcons scored four in the second half.
Coach Jack Jamieson will hope to use this experience to motivate his team as the Eutectics host American Midwest Conference rivals Park University at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at the SLUH football stadium.

EUTS DROP FIRST AMC GAME
The STLCOP men's soccer team suffered an 8-0 defeat to Park University (1-1-1) Tuesday night at the Eutectic's home field at Saint Louis University High School. It was the first American Midwest Conference game of the season for both teams.
Park dominated most aspects of the game, scoring the first goal less than three minutes into the game, then another less than three minutes later. In all, the Pirates would score five times in the first half and three in the second. The eighth and final goal for Park was a penalty kick by Ivan Aguero.
Ethan Haege (FR/St. Libory, Ill.)'s return to the squad was not what he had hoped.  The freshman keeper collected eight saves in the game, but saw the ball pass him eight times in the loss.
The Euts hope to improve on their 0-2-1 record as they travel to Missouri Baptist University for another AMC game on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 12:30 p.m.
STLCOP STUNG BY HORNETS
The men's soccer team took a 2-1 loss to the Harris Stowe State University Hornets (2-6, 1-3 AMC) today in an AMC matchup on the Eutectics' home field at Saint Louis University High School.
The scoring opened in the 20th minute of the first half off a successful penalty kick by Nedzad Idrizovic (SR/Oakville, Mo.). It was his first goal of the season.
The Hornets turned around their deficit with a first-half equalizer from Hugo Tarrida off an assist from Felipe Campos seconds before halftime.
With 19:42 left on the game clock, STLCOP goalkeeper Ethan Haege (FR/St. Libory, Ill.) batted away Marcos Silva's shot from ten yards out, and Andrej Markesic was there to tap in what would be the game winner for HSSU.
The game took a sharp turn with 7:18 remaining when Gabriel Osorio of Harris Stowe received a red card for a high-studded, late challenge. The card capped off an all-around physical contest in which five cards were given out.
The short-handed Hornets managed to hold off the Euts for a tight victory.
Ethan Haege had a standout performance with nine saves, including one from a penalty. The Eutectics put seven shots on goal, with HSSU goalkeeper Nicholas Morales saving six.
The Eutectics, now 0-4-1, 0-3 AMC, will next host conference rival Hannibal-LaGrange University at Saint Louis University High School on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 9 p.m.

TROJANS TAKE DOWN EUTS
The Eutectic men's soccer team lost 6-0 to Hannibal-LaGrange University in an American Midwest Conference matchup Tuesday night in St. Louis. The heavily skilled Trojans netted twice in the first half, then scored another four goals in the second half.
The Euts struggled to match the slick-footed Trojans who maintained high pressure for the full 90 minutes. With every heavy touch snatched away, the Eutectics found it extremely difficult to build offensive momentum.

STLCOP goalkeeper, Ethan Haege, did have a highlight moment to add to his impressive freshman season. Haege saved a penalty in the 23rd minute. Guessing low, right-side, Haege's outstretched arms parried away the shot. This save was his second penalty save in two games. Haege racked up six saves in the game to add to his season total of 37 in five games to lead the conference in Saves per Game.

The Eutectics are now 0-4-1 (0-3 AMC) heading into their next conference game on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Lindenwood University-Belleville at 12 p.m.
EUTECTIC MEN SUFFER 4-1 DEFEAT TO EAGLES
The Eutectic men's soccer team fell 4-1 to the Williams Baptist University Eagles (8-2-3, 5-1-2 AMC) in Friday night's late night game at Saint Louis University High School.
Less than three minutes in, the Eagles took a 1-0 lead when Raul Abellan Sanz scored on a penalty kick. Despite dominating possession and taking 14 shots in the first period, the Eagles did not score again before halftime. STLCOP goalkeeper Ethan Haege (FR/St. Libory, Ill.) made seven saves in the half.
In in the first minute of the second period, however, the Eagles' Abellan Sanz set up teammate Gonzalo Gallego for the second WBU goal of the night. 20 minutes later, the Eagles' Joao Lucredi headed a ball off the corner from Matheus Bergami to put WBU up 3-0.
In the 83rd minute, STLCOP's Ezechiel Tuyambaze (SO/St. Louis, Mo.) scored the only goal for the Eutectics to put some life into the STLCOP offense. But, just before the final buzzer, WBU's Gabriel Otero dribbled past STLCOP goalkeeper Chris Sutton (FR/Fredericktown, Mo.), who subbed in for Haege after an injury due to a yellow card foul, to sneak one more goal in for the Eagles to make the final score 4-1.
The Eutectics, now 0-8-1 (0-7 AMC), will next take on No. 2-ranked Columbia College on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 7:30 p.m. in Columbia.
EUTS FALL 1-0 TO MUSTANGS
The Eutectic men's soccer team gave up one goal to Central Baptist College (4-11-1, 1-8-1 AMC) for an American Midwest Conference loss this rainy afternoon at Saint Louis University High School.
The Eutectic defense fought off eight CBC shots in the first half to keep the game scoreless through halftime. Its was in the 51st minute, when Mateo Johnson received a long ball from 20 yards out and booted the ball past STLCOP goalkeeper Ethan Haege (FR/St. Libory, Ill.) into the net for the game winner.
With plenty of time left on the clock, the Eutectics had their chances to even the score, totalling six shots from Owen Mentzer (FR/Swansea, Ill.), Sean Harris (JR/House Springs, Mo.), Armen Grigorian (SO/St. Charles, Mo.), and Mark Rezk (JR/Irvine, Cal.). Despite the effort, the STLCOP squad could not find the net, forcing only one save from CBC goalkeeper Andrew Montoya before time ran out. Haege recorded four saves for the Eutectics.
Despite the rain, STLCOP seniors Joel Arackal (SR/Des Plaines, Ill.), Kristofer Frostestad (SR/Lee's Summit, Mo.), and Nedzad Idrizovic (SR/Oakville, Mo.) were celebrated for "senior day" after the game.
With two conference games left on the schedule, the Eutectics, now 0-10-1 (0-9 AMC) play their final home game on Tuesday, Oct. 29, against William Woods University at 9 p.m. at the SLUH soccer stadium.
MEN'S HOME FINALE ENDS IN 6-1 LOSS
The Eutectic men's soccer team conceded six unanswered goals after taking the lead against William Woods University (6-11, 4- AMC) in the cold and rain at Tuesday night's final STLCOP home game.
Mark Rezk (JR/Irvine, Cal.) gave the Euts an early lead. In the thirteenth minute, Rezk lobbed the Owls' keeper from about 30 yards out. The junior defender spotted the keeper off his line and pinged a ball that just made it into the net, over his outstretched glove. This was Rezk's first goal in his three year career at STLCOP.

The Euts' lead lasted 20 minutes when the Owls managed three goals in ten minutes. This quickfire succession kickfired William Woods to a comfortable win.

STLCOP goalkeeper Ethan Haege (FR/St. Libory, Ill.) made 11 saves in the game.

The Euts have one remaining match as they travel to Henderson, Tenn., to take on Freed-Hardeman University for an American Midwest Conference matchup on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 3 p.m.
