As a depressive person, the painting is an escape mode and a reason to be proud of. Using this motivation to help myself on Yellow September, I had created this watercolor drawing.
Yellow September – Brazilian Campaign which aims to decrease and prevent the suicide. The idea is to promote events that gives space to talk about the suicide, mental health and disseminating the subject, warning about the significance of this discussion to the population. (Wikipédia, 2019)
Concept and Meanings
The Sunflower – Sunflowers symbolize adoration, loyalty and longevity. Much of the meaning of sunflowers stems from its namesake, the sun itself. These flowers are unique in that they have the ability to provide energy in the form of nourishment and vibrancy—attributes which mirror the sun and the energy provided by its heat and light. Sunflowers are known for being “happy” flowers, making them the perfect gift to bring joy to someone’s (or your) day. (ProFlowers, 2015)

The yellow color – It’s the color of sunshine, hope, positivity, clarity, energy, happiness, optimism, enlightenment, remembrance, intellect, honor, loyalty, and joy. The color yellow helps activate the memory, encourage communication, enhance vision, build confidence, and stimulate the nervous system.
