Muscipula is a monster created by a group of scientists trying to create sentient plantlife that can grow at exponential rates and thrive on its own.  The experiment took a dark turn when the corporation funding the project asked instead for a weaponized living plant after seeing the success of the project.  The reluctant scientists complied and created Muscipula, who quickly escaped the facility and is currently loose in the wild causing havoc.
