An avid off-roader and regular at Xtreme Off Road in Crosby, Texas, Connor Martin loves to put his vehicle to the test. Based in Kingwood, Texas, Connor Martin is also a big fan of wave runners, cars, and most other things with a powerful engine. His experience off-roading has taught him a lot about safely going off-road.

First and foremost, know your vehicle. People unfamiliar with the basics of things like traction control, locking differentials, and break-over angles probably aren’t ready for serious off-roading. It’s important to do some preliminary research and get acquainted with one’s particular vehicle. Also, make sure you have the right equipment. Whether it's the right tires, a winch, or a snorkel, you’ll need to be properly equipped. The best strategy is to speak with someone familiar with the trails you’ll be exploring. Finally, always plan for the worst. Have a first-aid kit, fire extinguisher, seat-belt cutter, and glass breaker at all times, as well as a reliable way to call for help.
