Mind & Soul
The inspiration behind this project was to illustrate the struggle I have when balancing conflicting thoughts in my head, and following the sensations around me and allowing these feelings to determine what I do in life. The work is set in a rainy, water-based theme to emphasize the duality of of the liquid. On one hand, rain can be viewed as an oppressive and ominous backdrop for any scene however, large bodies of water can be associated with serenity and the perception of "floating". This notion is further complemented by the profile of me running which aligns well with the experience I feel when I run from the heart; omitting the mind.
