Vectora Type Specimen Book

Vectora, the simple san serif typeface, was developed by Adrian Frutiger in 1990. The Op Art movement was still going strong at this time with artists like Alberto Biasi, Marcello Morandini, and Victor Vasarely. It is the work of these individuals who have inspired the theme for this type specimen book. The discovery of optical illusions poses questions about the science behind what happens when we view these works of art. Why do our eyes perceive movement when the image is still? What is behind certain color relationships, and what does that tell us about our brains? These ideas and more are explored using a variety of implementations of Frutiger’s Vectora.
